Petrochemical Site Inspection

Petrochemical site inspections by RPAS/UAV/Drones has been a reality for a while now and it has been a safe and reliable method to carry out aerial inspections of the assets since the development of reliable industrial grade, commercial Drones and the available payloads. Aerial inspections has been a game changer in the petrochemical industry.

QSurvey uses advanced technology that takes the risk out of the equation and handles your inspections at a fraction of the cost of previous methods. Our RPAS equipment is purpose-built for the external inspections of tank storage facilities, the internal confined space inspections of storage tanks and all locations pertinent to the petrochemical industry. Drone surveying of tanks includes internal and external inspections. High-resolution digital imagery is recorded for your inspection reports. In most cases you can have aerial inspections carried out while keeping your facility in full operation.

You’ll be alerted to problems before they even become problems. Data from our UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) inspections are compatible with inspection software. This means you can track the status of your assets, detecting anomalies and initiating preventive maintenance at petrochemical, oil and gas structures. Corrosion, leaks and other problems are identified. Drone inspections from QSurvey are a safe, efficient and affordable method for inspecting oil, gas and petrochemical sites.

Refineries & Storage Tanks

Petrochemical site inspections using QSurvey and our RPAS/UAV/Drones record extremely detailed digital and thermal imagery (if required). These high-resolution images will shine a light on any issues present in your refinery’s tanks as a part of your maintenance and sustainability program, saving you time and money. When we carry out the internal inspections of storage tanks, we can reach up into the tank top

Manual tank inspections are dangerous and time-consuming, taking several days to complete. In less than a day, our crew and equipment will do its job thoroughly, exposing no one to harm.

Fuel storage tanks can be inspected with our equipment after ventilation and after all explosive risk(s) have been mitigated. The tanks need to be prepared as you would if you were to use any other “Apparatus for use in Atmospheres Explosive (ATEX) tool. A hot work permit needs to be issued as if you would if conducting hot work such as welding.

However, after that preparation work has been completed, we can carry out the internal inspection without the need for people to enter inside the confined space and or hanging off ropes and no need to set up scaffolding/staging (which can cause damage to the internal surfaces).

Chimneys & Flare Stacks

Providing rope access or scaffolding to carry out an inspection of your chimneys and flare stacks is obsolete in these days of RPAS/UAV/Drone technology. QSurvey can examine not only the external surfaces and components of your chimneys and flare stacks including the integrity of stairs and safety railings, but also internally from bottom to top.

We can also carry out an internal inspection using the purpose designed and built industrial grade commercial collision tolerant confined space RPAS/UAV equipment.

When using QSurvey for the inspections of your chimneys and flare stacks, you won’t need to set up staging, you won’t need to have rope work teams, you won’t have to have rescue teams on standby.

You will receive high quality HD video and or photogrammetry data in order to truly understand the condition of your asset. 3D modelling is also available
