How We Do It

QSurvey specializes in using Robotic/RPAS/UAV inspection equipment that is of the highest commercial grade of construction, durable, reliable, collision avoidance sensor equipped, shielded from RF waves and magnetic fields etc.

For inspection of confined spaces we utilise the worlds first purposed designed and constructed collision tolerant RPAS/UAV that is sent into the confined space with the operator standing safely outside while collecting HD video and photogrammetry data sets (including thermal) during the inspection.

Whether it involves the tightest underground spaces in a mine, the chemical soup in a sewage treatment facility, or the highest towers in a communications network, we are ready to deliver high-definition video and photogrammetry data set reports to our clients.

QSurvey is certified as an ReOC holder with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and our operators all hold RPAS RePLs.

Minimising risk

Inspections and surveys, particularly in hazardous situations such as at height, underground sites, at sea onboard ships, confined spaces, etc can all put lives at risk.

In Australia, approximately 5,000 people are injured while inside confined spaces carrying out inspection work or some other activity. Between 140 and 170 people die inside confined spaces every year in Australia.

The risks of working at height are often misunderstood by many people, from employers to employees, contractors, subcontractors, etc. One misconception is regarding the definition of working at height. Most people think of someone working on a skyscraper, or a very tall tower but that is not actually the case.

Did you know?

  • Every year in Australia, an average of 29 people die from work-related falls.
  • Falling from a height was the cause of 11% of all work-related deaths in Australia.
  • Half of the fatal falls involved distances of three metres or less (31% from a height of two metres or less, and a further 19% involved falls from between two and three metres).
  • 21 employees every day lodge claims for a falls-related injury that required one or more A typical claim due to a fall from height involved 6 weeks off work and compensation paid average over $14,000 per claim.
